An Unbelievable Course Correction: New Boat, New Crew

Our plan looked tidy on paper. We picked a boat. We selected a destination. We sketched an itinerary. And, we imagined a Grenada trip like this would answer some big questions about how we are able to handle the cruising lifestyle.

Well. The universe had other ideas. A week ago, the charter company called to let us know that the monohull we’d reserved is currently “unavailable.” As in: stuck on a freighter somewhere, not making it to the Caribbean in time. 😳

As an alternative they offered us: a 50-foot catamaran! 🤯

After a short pause and a very quick mental inventory of what that might be like, we said yes. And just like that, the shape of this adventure changed! 😎

A New Trajectory

We’re genuinely excited about this trip. A week in the Grenadines, good wind, and a boat that gives us plenty to think about? Oh hell ya! It wasn’t what we’d had in mind, but we’d be crazy to turn it down!

Not surprising: it’s not easy to round up crew last minute! Very glad to report that my sister will join us again (she came along on our BVI trip), and a couple of her friends! I expect fun will be had by all!

As we prepare, we’ll keep sharing what we’re learning. And when we come back, we’ll have a lot to talk about!

Stay tuned!
