A New Year, A New Sailing Glossary!

Sailing is confusing, this we know. There are so many words and phrases specific to sailing, and they can vary depending on the type of boat, the rigging, the wind, and the water conditions, etc. Sometimes it feels like a different language.

So, I have something to share with you! I just added a new page to my blog that is dedicated to explaining the most common sailing terms. I hope this page will be useful and informative whenever you stumble onto an unfamiliar term, or maybe you’re just nerdy and you like to look through glossaries….

Anyhoooo…. 

Here is a list of over 150 sailing terms in alphabetical order. I tried to provide clear and concise definitions for each one. Browse the list alphabetically, or use CTRL + F to find a specific term.

The page will be added to the navigation – will open in a new tab – and will be available to look at whenever you see anything that stumps you.
